I just heard on the radio that Canadians spent over 2.5 million dollars on Boxing Day alone!! Add that to what we spent for Christmas and “OH MY GAWD” is what a lot of North Americans are going to be saying when opening credit card bills!!

Now, we can either pull out our hair and beat ourselves up, or we can save ourselves from being bald and bruised by being grateful that we live where we live, and can do what we do.

Prosperity is really about consciousness. The consciousness we approach our bills with is very important. Remember the section of the movie “The Secret” where the man kept getting past due notices in his mail box, and was sending out vibrations of frustration and hopelessness? What did he attract to himself? More to be frustrated about!

Pay attention to your attitudes as you open your bills in the next few months. Let yourself bless them and absolutely KNOW the money to pay those bills off completely is now at hand. As you do this you will be attracting just what you need.

Winter Solstice – the shortest day of the year.

One of the things I love about the holidays is the sense of wonder I experience. I know we all had it as a child, and something about the holidays brings it out in us again. I believe a sense of wonder will add to our consciousness of abundance. How do you regain it? Be in the present moment – right where your body is, and use your senses!!

Each one of them is a great gift!

Here’s an advent program just for you – focus on one sense a day … and experience the wonder!!

Today, Thursday – use your sense of smell …. If you’re out shopping, stop in a bakery or chocolate shop and take a big sniff. Or linger at the perfume counter. Really breathe in the aromas of the food you are cooking for dinner. Smell your Christmas tree. Hug someone you love and breathe in their essence.

Friday – use your sense of touch. Close your eyes and feel all the different textures in your home. If you have pets, let yourself appreciate their warm furry bodies, their sleek feathers or skin. Feel your own hands, your hair, your Beloved’s skin. Marvel in the sensitivity of your touch.

Saturday – use your sense of taste. Slow down and savor every mouthful of food you eat. Take a bite of chocolate or a candy cane and eat it very slowly, noticing the delight of your inner child.

Sunday - Christmas eve – use your sense of hearing. Really listen to the voices of your family. Go outdoors and listen to the sounds of nature. Go to a candlelight service, close your eyes and listen to the music. Our world makes wonderful noises!

Monday – Christmas Day – use your sense of sight. Really look at your family while they are opening their gifts … don’t let anything distract you. Look at your own gifts, the colours, textures and shapes. Look at the wonderful foods there are to eat. Be fully present as you look at each thing individually and then look at the big picture.

Using your senses consciously, you will realize you can say truthfully: Thank God I’m Rich!!

A participant in our TGIR group was invited to participate in a potlatch ceremony with a Native American tribe. She wrote:

“During this ceremony several of the tribal elders take all of their most treasured items and lay them on a blanket. Then the people walk by and take anything they may need. I could hardly believe this was happening. These people don’t have very much and it seemed like all they had was on their blankets. I asked if the elders kept anything at their home. "Nothing of value" I was told. By the end of the line, most of the items were gone and there was a silence as the elders sat by their empty blankets.

Then a new line formed and began to walk by the blankets. This time the people gave anything the elder would need - blankets, sacred items, clothing, food, and money. Not only did most of the items return, but the elder’s blankets would be overflowing. Afterwards there was a big party with lots to eat, great music and dancing. I was astonished at the simplicity and the powerful lesson of giving and receiving, of letting go of what is valued in this world and trusting that all needs will be met.”

In the busyness of this holiday season it’s so easy to get frustrated and distracted which makes it the perfect time to practice mindfulness. It’s also a good time to remember that giving and receiving are sacred events to be experienced with JOY! The Spirit of the giving and receiving is more important than the actual gifts, because what we are really giving is ourselves..

Many thanks to those who have continued to send in tithes to our TGIR program – our total year to date is $947.00!!

Three times this week angels have come into my awareness. Granted it’s Christmas and angels abound, however when something happens three times, I realize the Universe is trying to get my attention.

Angels are messengers from God. Whether we believe in them or not, metaphysically they represent higher thoughts – pure thoughts – direct from Spirit. I’d like to share a delightfully little flash movie. Go ahead – click on it now:

So what do angels have to do with our prosperity?

How many times have you had a great idea, but didn’t do anything about it, only to discover that someone else had that same idea, did something about it and had it work very well for them?

On the spiritual level, we are always in alignment with the highest and best Divine Ideas. To experience prosperity on the physical level, we have to be open to recognizing and claiming those Ideas and putting them to work. We have to “ask our angels” (Treat) to reveal those Ideas to us by sitting in meditation and being receptive. Maybe the Great Idea won’t come during your actual meditation time, but be ready, because it will arrive. And when it does, don’t put it aside. Remember that you asked for it – and now it is up to you to do something with it!

Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich wrote “Ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes”

Remember this – YOU are a Divine Idea in the mind of God made manifest!!

Abundant Blessings, Rev. Angelica
